A speaking hatrick!

Our CEO Oli Christie has been invited to speak at some pretty amazing places this year...firstly at the House of Commons to MPs to dicuss introducing tax breaks into the game industry; then at Buckingham Palace with Prince Andrew to discuss Local Enterprise Partnerships; and he has completed an unbelievable hatrick by speaking to the brains and clever people at Oxford University.

Oxford Entrepreneurs

Following in the rather illustrious footsteps of previous speakers including Sir Alan Sugar, James Dyson (is he a sir as well?) and the founders of Spotify and Innocent Smoothies, Oli asked to speak about his experiences of starting up a company making apps to Oxford Entrepreneurs.

And on a rainy and blustery October night, Oli arrived in the City of Dreaming Spires (that's Oxford) and at the very posh Christchurch College and headed across the impressive quadrangle. This is what it looks like when it's sunny, but in reality, it was just dark and peeing with rain.

Fab four

Along with three other app entrepreneurs from Bantr, Floxx and Gift Cannon, Oli shared his lessons and learnings from the highs and lows of setting up a new app company. It was a great evening and the students asked some interesting questions afterwards, which always makes a change...! Here is where we spoke (there were some people there).

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play commented, "It was a great honour to be asked to speak at Oxford University, especially as the last time I was in Oxford I was retaking my A Levels and working in WHSmith selling Max Bygraves cassettes to old dears. I really enjoyed the evening and the feedback has been really positive."
