Neon Play

We're proud to be an Hachette UK company

Winner takes it all!

It's not often we get to dress up all posh, so it was with a touch of excitement, shoe polish and rented DJs as we trotted off to the Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo Business Awards. It was held at Cheltenham Racecourse and there were an incredible 600 people there. Our host for the evening was local girl and BBC Sport presenter Jill Douglas (she does rugby a lot).

Here is a list of the nominations. We were the only company up for three gongs, which rather surprised us.

Gloucestershire Business Awards nominees

Once, twice, three times...

The three categories we were up for a gong were Young Business of the Year, Business Innovation Award and Best Place to Work. And we were over the moon when we won the biggest and best of those three categories...the Young Business of the Year. Champagne flowed, we got rather over-excited and Oli made some wibbling speech about how great Cirencester is and toasted Steve Jobs.

Here are CEO Oli Christie, CTO Mark Allen and Commercial Director Finbar Hawkins toasting their success with the charmingly shaped glass award. (The base is metal, but Oli is holding that in a manly way).

Neon Play win Glos Business Award

And here is a video of the great moment. Please excuse the somewhat over-exuberant celebration...

Very emotional

Following the awards, we were feted like Oscar winners and lots of people suddenly wanted to be our best friends. We felt like Gwyneth Paltrow. Anyway, it was a great night, very well organised and a top bash.

Oli Christie, rather ailing due to lack of kip and a sore head commented, "The whole team is chuffed to bits to have won this prestigious local award and it was great to be honoured and voted by the panel of judges. We're very proud of what we've achieved and love being in Cirencester and Gloucestershire. Long may it continue..."
