Our fave charity

Helping local charity

Doing our bit

When our CEO Oli Christie started Neon Play, one of the 10 reasons to work at Neon Play was that we would give a percentage of our profits to a local charity. And following a period of research, we were delighted to select a local special needs school for children aged 3-18 called Paternoster School. It's just down the road from our studio and they do some fantastic work in a really lively and inspiring environment.

iPad please

And we had a budget of about £500 to give them after our first year's trading, so we asked their head teacher what they could use that money for. And the answer came back, "we'd love an iPad please". This seemed like a great idea as iPads and mobile devices are what we're all about, so we happily ordered an iPad 2 and it arrived looking all shiny and lovely.

Here is Mark Allen and Oli Christie with two of the children, Arthur Godwin and Connor Hobson.

Stand and deliver

Yesterday we popped down the road to Paternoster and handed over the iPad to the teachers and children and it seemed to go down very well. Our only concern is that they may start fighting over who uses it as all the kids seemed very excited to play with it (as we all are too).

Quotes

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play commented, "We are very proud to be working with Paternoster School and feel it's the best local charity for Neon Play to work with due to their small size and location and the vital importance of the teachers, parents and children's hard work and needs. We hope this iPad donation is the start of a long and fruitful relationship between us."

Julia Mansell, headteacher of Paternoster School, “We are delighted to have the support of Neon Play and are very grateful for the generous donation of an iPad 2. The iPad is a fantastic tool for use by our pupils, many of whom are able to use it independently and with great confidence. The range of apps available means it can be used by pupils with a wide range of needs to promote the next steps in their learning”.
