We're proud to be an Hachette UK company

Talked about in high places!

Parliament mention

Order, order!!

We're very lucky to have been to the House of Parliament two times to talk to MPs. But yesterday, Neon Play achieved the mighty moment when our little games studio was mentioned in the Houses of Parliament. Yes, we couldn't believe it either.

Justin Tomlinson, MP for North Swindon, and a recent visitor to Neon HQ, very kindly mentioned us in regard to the EU Commission's latest hampering of the UK Games Tax Relief.

Here's what was said:

Justin Tomlinson (North Swindon) (Con): I recently visited the excellent Neon Play studios to see at first hand just how much potential there is in the video games industry. However, this is set to be hampered by the EU Commission investigating UK games tax relief, which has only just been secured after lobbying by the Minister and the industry representative, TIGA. Will the Minister stand up for our position?

Ed Vaizey (UK Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries): Yes. I am working closely with the European Commission on its investigation into video games tax relief and I am confident of a good result.

Here's Ed Vaizey in case you're not sure what he looks like. We got him confused with Keith Vaz. Must be the letters V and Z!

It's even in Hansard (Column 480), which is the record of everything said in Parliament. So we're there forever now, regardless of what happens!

Nice to meet you...

Here's Justin Tomlinson MP with our CEO Oli Christie at a recent event in the Houses of Parliament. They're currently battling in a Flick Football best score competition (Justin is winning - for the moment...).

Rent a quote

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play commented, "We had a list of things that Mark and I wanted to achieve with Neon Play, including number one games around the world, etc. But we never thought that Neon Play would get a mention in Parliament, so we're well chuffed that we've made it to the very centre of government! Next stop...the White House. Or maybe not."
