Hotshot Red Hot

Pool game is hot

Hotshot Pool climbs the charts

There are some great moments when you make an iPhone game. Firstly, coming up with a cracking idea. Secondly, seeing the designs coming together. Thirdly, seeing the gameplay develop and become fun. Fourthly, launching the app onto the App Store.

But the bit that really gets the old adrenalin going is when your app starts rocketing up the charts. You become obsessive, you refresh iTunes to see how it’s climbing, you’re looking at your stats page and you just can’t wait for your daily sales to drop into your inbox.

And it looks like (fingers crossed) we might have another of those exciting rollercoaster rides with Hotshot Pool. Apple seems to have picked up the game and are featuring it on many iTunes stores around the world, including the USA and Canada.

As a result, over the weekend, Hotshot Pool went into the Top 50 games in the USA and Top 100 of all US apps. Plus, the game was sitting pretty in the USA Sports Games Top 10, which is always fun, competing against some fairly big hitters.

And here is the USA Puzzle Games Top 10...

Hotshot Pool

Oli Christie, managing director of Neon Play, fresh from the local pool bar in Cirencester commented, "We're delighted with the initial success of Hotshot Pool and hope that as people play the game and realise how addictive it is to complete all 100 levels, that they'll tell their friends and the game will become viral. It's a great game and we're chuffed that Apple have picked it up so early."
