And the winner is...
Everyone likes winning awards. And we’re lucky little so-and-so’s because we’ve won 17 awards in the last two years. And unbelievably, we’ve been up for a bunch of new awards and accolades recently, but we've haven't shouted too loud as we've lost most of them. Yes, we're losers. Big time losers.
Have a look below at our recent losing streak. A bit like an Australian Ashes team.
Haven’t you grrrown?
Firstly, we have the Growing Business Awards, which is a mighty-fine and very grown-up awards bash. And we were up for Young Company of the Year with some very big competition. We don’t feel that young, but it’s nice to still feel young. There were rather a lot of nominees, so we weren't expecting much and we didn't actually go as these London awards bashes are rather spenny.
But we were hugely surprised to get an email that evening from a fellow nominee saying that we had been Highly Commended in our category. And that's high praise with some very big hitters.
Tech by tech, ooo baby!
Next up is the UK Tech Awards. These celebrate success, reward achievement and their aim is to help to significantly raise the profile of the UK tech community.
The UK Tech Awards has evolved from the techMARK awards, in order to broaden the tech universe to include not only publicly quoted techMARK companies but also AIM tech companies and fast growing, innovative private tech companies (that’ll be us then).
Neon Play were nominated by the accountancy giants PwC for two awards - Emerging Star and Tech Personality of the Year award at their forthcoming awards. Once again (there’s a theme here...), we didn’t make the final cut sadly, but it was nice to be considered.
Just one more...
And finally (we think), there was the Digital Entrepreneur Awards, which was hosted in Manchester’s dead posh and very cool Hilton Hotel. We were up for two gongs in this one - Social Media Campaign of the Year and Digital Entrepreneur of the Year for our CEO Oli Christie. Alas, there was some still competition and we came away empty handed, but hangover free (as we didn’t go!).
Here are all the happy winners. Look at their smug faces. We're not bitter. Honest.
We did win something!
We did win a nice accolade though from Mobile Entertainment and their annual ME50 - a list of the top mobile innovators in the UK. And for the third year running, Neon Play is on the hot list. We thank you Mobile Entertainment. It’s great to be on the list again.
That’s all folks
So lots of awards we were up for, but we were against some amazing companies, who are probably doing much more worthy and successful things that making fun mobile games. But we’re dead chuffed and very proud anyway.

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play commented, “We are incredibly proud of the awards we have won over the last two years, especially our Queen’s Award. So to be up for these new awards and to be a top UK mobile innovator makes all the hard work our talented and brilliant team are doing worthwhile. With 17 awards in the last two years, we’ve had our fair share, but we’d still love to win some more!”
