Dom Joly app is live

TV comic prankster and “I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here” contestant Dom Joly has teamed-up with app developer Neon Play to release a collection of travel images, character sounds and ramblings from his TV characters and new Dark Tourist Book.

Joly, who is currently heading for the jungle to wind-up the latest of collection of celebrity contestants, decided to develop the app (called ‘Dom Joly’) from a chance meeting with Neon Play CEO Oli Christie in Cirencester.

“I’m a huge app fan anyway so when Neon Play approached me to do an app, and it turned out that they were based in Cirencester, my local town, I said yes....obviously...,“ said Joly.

“We met by chance, got talking and the app idea came about very quickly,” said Christie.

The Dark Tourist

The app includes Joly’s take on his visits to places like North Korea and Cambodia, holiday destinations for his new Dark Tourist book:“Cambodia, currently the only country in the world where you can do both the killing fields and the beach in one day.”

Sounds, sounds and more sounds

App users are also treated to a soundboard selection including the Gardner, Traffic Warden and of course Big Mobile Guy, bellowing into his mobile and new iPad about his “rubbish” app.

Plus, there will be an update to the app following Joly’s trip to the Australian jungle with some exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and stories.

“It’s a bit of fun and the travel photos are great,” added Christie. “It also includes the legendary pic of Dom dressed as a turd outside of Asda. What more can you want from an iPhone app?”
